Printmaking, drawing and collage

This workshop took place in a care home specialising in supporting people with dementia. We  used a mixture of photographs, drawings and prints to create a collage. Each person chose moments/people in their lives as a basis for this body of work.

Textile collages

At a care home in Barnet I facilitated a short workshop using a mixture of drawing and collage to design a fabric collage using bondaweb to applique fabric shapes onto a backing. The collage designs are personal to each participant.

Olympic collage

Working with GoldDust Arts and Sean Michael. Creating a collage with children from a nursery in Barnet. Over 4 sessions children made props including medals, weights, hockey sticks and an Olympic torch as well  as numbers for their t.shirt and fabric banners. We then showed them footage of Olympic athletes in action and took a series of photographs focusing on emotions and movements in sport ( using obstacle courses and setting up games for them to play) The students used printouts of themselves and professional athletes to make individual collages that were then worked together into a much lager collage.

Practical felt making

This project was designed to teach basic felt making, then explore what you could then make out of it. I wanted the participants to get a practical use out of it, so we focused on making either a purse or small bag, glasses or phone case etc. What ever they wanted, as long as it was practical in some way.

Play leaders training day

This workshop was designed to inspire and educate play leaders in Lambeth enabling them to pass the skills and knowledge gained onto their young people. Workshops included Screen Printing, Felt making, Mosaic making and Ceramics.

Ceramic tiles

We were asked to go back to St Q after the success of the mosaic tabletops and stepping stones for the garden. This time we delivered a ceramics workshop showing participants how to make Bas relief tiles. We then made a series of tiles spelling out St. Quentins and made additional tiles to decorate the edges with images of activities and things they like most.
